Because of musculoskeletal conditions, millions of Americans live with pain and discomfort, or find engaging in daily activities a challenge. Musculoskeletal disorders often have devastating effects on quality of life and can exacerbate other existing health conditions. Norton Orthopedic Institute and Norton Leatherman Spine Center provide advanced orthopedic care for bones, joints and spine injuries for people of all ages. Norton Orthopedic Institute is made up of board-certified physicians — many of whom are fellowship trained — working together with therapists, physical rehabilitation specialists, primary care physicians, neurologists, certified athletic trainers and other care providers to offer a full range of multidisciplinary orthopedic services. These specialists employ a team approach in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of bone and joint conditions and injuries.

Our Journey to Excellence
Norton Orthopedic Institute has been a long-standing pillar of orthopedic care in Kentucky and Southern Indiana and recently received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for knee and hip replacement for its commitment to the highest standards of care and service. We also collaborate with the specialists from Norton Leatherman Spine Center to offer advanced surgical and nonsurgical treatments for spine and spinal cord injuries, deformities and diseases, including scoliosis and congenital spine disorders. With locations throughout Greater Louisville and southern Indiana, Norton Orthopedic Institute and Norton Leatherman Spine Center offer several specialty centers focused on providing expertise in general orthopedics, joint replacement, injuries, trauma, pediatrics, oncology, spinal conditions and sports health.

The Bioskills Lab at Norton Orthopedic Institute is the primary clinical anatomy and surgical simulation training site for the orthopedic teams at Norton Healthcare. The lab provides mentored, hands-on training and simulation that is critical to innovation, patient safety, and effective surgical care. The Bioskills Lab is vital to improving surgical practice, advancing innovative research, and fostering advanced surgical education.
