NORTON CHILDREN’S BEHAVIORAL & MENTAL HEALTH

Throughout our community and beyond, the demand for services provided at Norton Children’s Behavioral & Mental Health, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, continues to rise. In order to meet this growing need, we have a vision to improve our multidisciplinary approach to addressing developmental and behavioral health at our existing facilities. From evaluation to early intervention to treatment, the professionals at Norton Children’s will be better equipped to provide children the best in neurology, psychology, therapy, occupational medicine, and management of transition in care across the patient’s lifespan. In addition, we’re embarking on a commitment to create a new 13,000-square-foot Norton Children’s Autism Center that will house the region’s premier autism program. We hope you’ll join us on our Journey to Excellence as we strive to provide the children of our communities all the tools they deserve to live life to its fullest.

Just imagine a world where we can provide our communities’ children the tools they need and deserve to live a balanced life to its fullest.

With your support, we can achieve that goal through new and improved facilities, cutting-edge developmental and behavioral care, and by enhancing our ability to attract the brightest minds in the field.

OUR VISION CALLS FOR

Norton Children’s Autism Center

Our $5 million philanthropic vision includes the creation of the 13,000-square-foot Norton Children’s Autism Center. This new center, located within a multidisciplinary integrated care facility, will feature innovative care spaces, individual and group treatment rooms, and a robust transition-to-adulthood program to help families with autistic children thrive.

Workforce Development and Programming

Our $10 million philanthropic vision will help create fellowships, endowed chairs, and additional physical rehabilitation and support staff to support attracting and recruiting the highly skilled professionals our community deserves.

Research

Our $5 million clinical research agenda will provide the initial foundation needed to advance care to the clinical environment, improving outcomes for children and their families as part of our transition-incare programming.

WITH YOUR SUPPORT, JUST IMAGINE…

…creating the region’s premier autism center to serve as a onestop resource for families to access evaluation, treatment, research, training, and resources for their children

…attracting and developing expert leaders in the field of child neurology and physical medicine through endowed chairs

…creating patient-centered facilities and re-imagined spaces to better support evidence-based approaches to care

Our Journey to Excellence
Norton Children’s Behavioral & Mental Health enjoys an excellent reputation for providing individualized psychiatric care to meet the needs of each child. Our program has become a regional referral center, but is in need of facility enhancements to meet growing inpatient volumes as well as the increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.

The excitement around our new Norton Children’s Autism Center is palpable as we strive to create the region’s premier autism program. The center will feature 14 therapy rooms for psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavioral analysts, as well as eight exam rooms for medical specialists, three group therapy rooms, an occupational therapy gym, an indoor play space, a “simulation apartment” for individual and group skills classes, a family resource library, and much more.

Through this comprehensive campaign for Norton Children’s Behavioral & Mental Health, we have the opportunity to transform the care our region’s children are provided. We invite you to make a philanthropic investment that will leave a lasting legacy and ensure the future of world-class pediatric behavioral and mental health, right around the corner.

PERSPECTIVES

“Our vision for the Norton Children’s Autism Center is to house the region’s premier autism program for treatment, evaluation, intervention, training, and research, serving as a one-stop resource for children and their families.”
